The silent white.

On Saturday the snow invited itself and announced it was staying until further notice. The beauty far outweighs the inconvenience.

お久しぶり!

Apologies for being a lazy blogger. Here is an abridged and brief photo tour of the last two months to catch you up.

Lemon cake made in the rice cooker. I really wish I had an oven, but this was nearly as delicious! Stay tuned for the recipe.

Attempted felafels.

Fireworks in Hakodate.

Can't be compared to Sydney's, but I was still impressed. The atmosphere was newyearseve-esque. Complete with trashy teenagers and tear-streaked mascara. Seeing everyone in yukatas has inspired me to buy one before the year is out.

Yosakoi, a type of Japanese dancing using a combination of traditional moves and modern dance techniques, is very popular in Hakodate.

Can I keep you?

Asahiyama zoo in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. Capibara sighting!
